Luise Christensen-Howell started working with glass in 1984. It soon became a full time occupation. She owned and operated Glasshaus Studio, a retail store in Annville, Pa. where she created and sold original Glass Art. She also taught classes and sold supplies there. Wanting to devote more time to the creative process, she closed the store to work in her Studio in Hershey Pa. full time.

There have been many mentionable commissions over the years. A series of church windows in Sinking Springs, Pa. A double Entrance door at Our Lady of Peace church in Halifax, Pa. An entrance door at the Adjutants General Mansion at Fort Indian Town Gap, Pa. Her largest installation to date are 63 large (up to 3ft.) stained glass Butterflies at the welcome Pavillion of the Catherine and Milton Hershey Conservatory at Hershey Gardens in Hershey, Pa.

At her Studio Luise now creates smaller items for the home, office, or suitable for gifting. Items include window panels, panels in metal stands, small lamps, glass boxes, all created in the traditional Tiffany method. Using artglass and bevels each item is unique from her own original designs.

Currently Luise’s work is available at Lebanon Picture Frame and fine Art Gallery, Art on Derry and at her Studio by appointment. Luise can be contacted at 717-534-9135 or glashaus29@msn.com and you can find images of her work on facebook at https:/www.facebook.com/glasshausstudio/
