Even though they can be described as abstracted landscapes most of my paintings are based upon direct observation.  I always take some artistic license and end up painting a story about the place I see.  The location is an inspiration, but the painting itself is the destination.   

I like to always keep moving, keep experimenting, keep thinking of different ways to say the same things, familiar ways to say new things.  I try to look a little bit sideways to find the story of the image.  Because there is always a story.
